Angelina College

Angelina College is a community college located in Lufkin, Texas, with a branch campus in nearby Nacogdoches, Texas.

Angelina College was founded September 24, 1966 with construction of the original seven building campus beginning in November of 1967. Angelina College opened it's doors to students in the fall of 1968.

Dr. Jack Hudgins was elected the first president of Angelina College December 12, 1966 by the Board of Trustees.

Angelina College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science degrees.

As of 2004 Angelina College employeed 340 full and part-time faculty and staff. Angelina College is led by Dr. Larry Phillips the current President, having served in that capacity since 1991. Dr. Patricia M. McKenzie is the current Vice President and Dean of Instruction and Admissions.

Angelina College averages 5,000 students per semester with the majority of those attending class on-campus.

School Colors are Royal Blue, Columbia Blue, Orange, and White and the school mascot is the Roadrunner.
