Angela McGlowan, is a political analys former beauty queen from Oxford, Mississippi best known as a Republican Political Analyst for the Fox News Network and frequent guest on political talk shows.
McGlowan, a Public Administration graduate of the University of Mississippi who moved to Washington, DC, in 1993 to pursue her interest in political advocacy. Seven months later she won the Miss District of Columbia USA 1994 title and went on to compete in the Miss USA 1994 pageant won by Lu Parker of South Carolina.[1] Throughout her reign she continued her activism, promoting higher educational opportunities for welfare recipients. In 1995, she became the Outreach Director for Senator Bob Dole's "Better America Foundation".[2]
From 1996 McGlowan worked as a Legislative Assistant for Maryland Congressman Roscoe Bartlett (R-6th district) and later for Nevada Congressman John Ensign (R-1st district) where she rose to become his publicist during his successful 1996 re-election bid.[3]
In 1999, she joined the Fox News organization as an analyst, where she continues to work. She has also appeared as an analyst on PBS’s To The Contrary, America’s Black Forum, This is America with Dennis Wholey and was a frequent guest on BET’s Tonight, and ABC’s Politically Incorrect. From 1999 to 2005 she served as director of Government Affairs and Diversity Development for News Corporation. More recently, she has founded the consulting firm, Political Strategies and Insights.
McGlowan married John Venners, CEO of Veneers Group, in February 2006.[4]
Her first book, Bamboozled: How Americans are being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Media is scheduled to be released April 10, 2007, by Nelson Current Publishing.[5]
