Angela Beaumont

Angela Beaumont is an Australian artist who lives in Wingham, New South Wales, Australia. She paints a diverse range of subject matter and is known to use vibrant colours in her work. Growing up near the sea on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, she reguarly paints seascapes. In a statement describing her 'Seascapes' paintings, she says:

"The sea has a pure energy which invigorates me and inspires me to paint".

Her paintings are notably different to other artists' paintings. Through the use of vibrant colour, she shows her respect for the dynamic energy in nature. She says:

"I intend to touch the viewer on an inner level. I am interested in the effect colours can have on one's sensibility. For me there is a spirit of place and I connect to it when I paint".

In 1973-76 she attended the Alexander Mackie College of Art, at East Sydney Tech, majoring in painting. In 1976 she graduated with a Diploma of Art. In 1977 she received a diploma of Education in art, at Sydney Teachers' College.

She exhibited in the Packsadle exhibition at New England Regional Art Gallery, in Armidale, in 1996. In 2000, she held a solo exhibition at Manly Art Gallery And Museum, Sydney, named 'A Painted Life', which featured a large selection of her artworks.

She has had several major solo exhibitions in the Manning Valley, including a mini-retrospective in 2004 at Brush Gallery in Wingham and exhibitions at Manning Regional Art Gallery, in Taree. She reguarly exhibits in the Walkom exhibitions, in Taree and has exhibited at 'The Brush Gallery'. She is also well known for her numerous Landscapes, her Still Life collection and Pilgrimage, a series of artworks that she painted, which are about her visits to England, Bali and India and the contrast of climate and culture that she experienced.

On numerous occasions, she has helped run art workshops for kids at schools in the Manning Valley area and is also known for her group art classes that she held at the Manning Regional Art Gallery, Taree.
