Meeting in the Oval Office June, 26, 2003, President Bush thanked Prime Minister Anerood Jugnauth of Mauritius for hosting the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act Forum in January 2003. The President stressed that all of us share a common vision for the future of Africa and we look to the day when prosperity for Africa is built through trade and markets. Exports from AGOA nations to the United States are rising dramatically, and the benefits are felt throughout the region. From Mauritius to Mali, AGOA is helping to reform old economies, creating new incentives for good governance, and offering new hope for millions of Africans.
