[edit] Good work
Hi Andrzejbanas, I noticed you've been doing good work in film and music articles especially in infoboxes. By the way, you've added a lot of release dates - what source are you using? For Eraserhead, you changed [1] the US release date from 1977-03-17 to 1977-03-19; I found web sources for both dates. —Quarl (talk) 2006-08-13 04:29Z
- Hi Quarl!
I've been using www.allmovie.com, www.metacritic.com, and www.imdb.com for information on movie release dates.
I try to double check them with official websites if I can, i've discovered that allmovie.com isn't terribly reliable for older film release dates (e.g: Having "The Cabinet of Dr.Caligari" released in 1919).
:) thanks for the possitive comments.
I'm not terribly sure how to sign these off. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Andrzejbanas (talk • contribs).

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Usa-band.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Usa-band.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 15:16, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] LSB vs. Orange tally
Andrzejbanas, thanks for your participation on the WP:ALBUMS infobox template revision effort. In particular, I would like to thank you for your involvement in the discussion on switching from orange to lightsteelblue for studio albums.
The poll is now closed, and the consensus indicates strong support for switching from orange used on the template studio albums to lightsteelblue.
Thanks again for taking the time to participate; it is indeed most appreciated. --Cheers, Folajimi (leave a note) 16:19, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Broken Infobox
For reasons unknown, the Infobox for Joseph Byrd is no longer rendering properly. Have tried republishing...all prior versions are also broken...so I'm at a loss. Perhaps you know the scripting guru that makes these...thanks. Tvccs 15:19, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Monster Movies
Hi there, I see you've created a category for monster movie. I've been working on science fiction film re-categorisation for the last couple of weeks. I just wanted to run it by you, rather than just start a CfR, other categories tend to use the work "films" rather than "movies". I just wondered how you felt about changing Monster movies to Monster films to be consistent? Mallanox 00:44, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. I agree, monster movies is a very widely used term but perhaps a little idiosyncratic! I'm glad you're in agreement, I'll see if I can get it speedy-renamed. Mallanox 22:19, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Please do not delete the Rolling Stone magazine reviews for Curtis Mayfield. [edit] License tagging for Image:Huskerduband.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Huskerduband.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

[edit] Candlelight Records
You wrote: Hiya Lonewolf BC.
Why did you put up a lack of notability? The label hosts popular bands that have been reviewed in several major music magazines. Plus every wikipedia album page has links to music labels, so suggesting this link isn't it important would create a lot of deadlinks. I'd consider it notable. Andrzejbanas 05:37, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- I read the notability requirements, and looked at the information given on the page, and based on that Candlelight didn't look notable to me. I've never heard of it before. I'm not saying that proves anything about its notability, but if it is notable then I can't tell that from the information given about it -- and neither can anyone else who is unfamiliar with it. If you think Candlelight meets the guidelines, by all means add to the article the information that shows it meets them. -- Lonewolf BC 08:32, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hip hop albums categories
I recently moved alot of hip hop album categories to Category:American Hip hop albums. Today I noticed you were moving some categories to Category:East Coast Hip Hop albums and thought it was a good idea. I think we should split all the categories in Category:American Hip hop albums into:
- Category:East Coast Hip Hop albums
- Category:Midwestern hip hop albums
- Category:West Coast hip hop albums
- Category:Southern hip hop albums
How do you feel about that? The only problem is "hip hop" should be in lower case, so Category:American Hip hop albums and Category:East Coast Hip Hop albums should be renamed. So what do you think? - Tutmosis 22:51, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cat and the Canary
No problem. I had been completely gone for a couple of months. I'm glad someone else took an interest in the article and Paul Leni. I've only seen The Cat and the Canary and knew absolutely nothing about Leni before researching this article, but he seems like an important filmmaker. It's sad that these early films, directors, and actors are so neglected in Wikipedia. Dmoon1 13:50, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Bjorklogo.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. HI. I noticed you have worked on the Maltese Falcon before. Please have a look now. As soon as I can I will reference it and copy edit it fully . Do you think it could eventually have featured potential now? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 20:18, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
THankyou for taking the time to read it. The content is there for a feature but it will need substantial copy editing and referencing now before I peer review it even for a GA. I fully agree with you on the synopsis - although I do prefer more detailed synopsis - see my synopsis of From Russia With Love (film) this does need scondensing and maybe an image or two taken out. It has now become a B-class anyway. It would be great if between the three of us we could make this a feature. It is a great film ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 21:31, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] categories
Yes, in fact we just ran into a problem with these categories. There was a project in films to check the infoboxes status by going country by country. The "combined" categories in several countries were missed because they are not sorted/transcluded into the specific country list. I.E. If someone is looking for Greek films, and the article is tagged as 'Greek silent fims' they don't get the correct list, as the 'Greek silent' doesn't get included in Greek general (or the silent category). Now I'm now going year by year to double check the articles' infobox/synopsis/pic status, and in the 27 years I've completed, found probably 60% were tagged incorrectly/inadequately... because of this, as well as other problems. It appears that there may be a need to fix the sorting schema to make sure that these multiple word categories are sorted into both/all the relevant categories. SkierRMH 19:38, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Candlemassband.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Candlemassband.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Categorization is films
Hi Andrzejbanas, if you are helping up with film categorization, please take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Categorization#General categorization. First comes category by year ([[Category:19xx films]]) (which you took away from a 1913 film), then comes by country, then by language and after that come genres (which also include the by decade-genres) and then by studio, by director, awards, etc. I write this as I make tons of categorization in films, along with several others, so it's best we all keep the same pattern, to be able to see quickly if all basic categories are present in a page. If you have any question, please ask me, or if you think another system is more practical, please discuss it in the categorization department. Thanks for helping (inspite of this little technical problem). 18.000+ articles need all the help we can get. Hoverfish Talk 07:05, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Also if you intend to remove (as redundant) the country and the silent, in favor of the cross-category of county-silent, please, do mention and discuss about it in the categorization talk. I agree with it, by the way, although I follow double categorization because of a discussion I had about it with another categorizing gnome. It would be best we all agree, so we can all keep working on the same lines. Hoverfish Talk 07:15, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
And since you are at it (in horror films mostly?), please make sure the {{horror-film-stub}} is placed in all films assessed as horror stubs. Two empty lines under categories and one empty line before interwikis. Thanks and sorry for all my "instructions". Hoverfish Talk 07:22, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
I started a section in WP Films categorization with practical instructions (see bottom of page), so we can discuss them and, if needed, adjust them in a better way we all agree. I hope it's helpful. Hoverfish Talk 08:33, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
