[edit] Welcome

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia.

Here are some tasks you can do:

You might find these links helpful in creating new pages or helping with the above tasks: How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Naming conventions, Manual of Style. You should read our policies at some point too.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.

Again, welcome! - UtherSRG 14:59, 21 Jan 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Extinct animals

Hi, you seem to be tossing everything from the great auk to mammoths to dinosaurs into your new Category:Extinct animals — and I think a lot of that is already duplicated by the Category:Fossils (and its sub-cats, like Category:Prehistoric reptiles, and Category:Prehistoric mammals).

It's usually best to put something in the most specific category that applies (otherwise categories get overwhelmed by thousands of entries) so putting Category:Fossils into Category:Extinct animals should cover the really dead stuff. :) (See also: Conservation status and Wikipedia:WikiProject Tree of Life if you haven't already). 68.81.231.127 18:05, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Vandalism

SUre, no problem. Vandalism is something that affects us all sooner or later, but if we revert quickly then it defeats the point of being a vandal. In other news, you might want to change your hurricane Katrina to hurricane Rita ;-) Just a thought. Anyway, thanks for the recognition--Xiphon 14:09, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

You are welcome. Don't mention it. Cheers. -- PFHLai 22:25, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Classic Rock

Hello. I was wondering if you would like to participate in my classic rock survey. I'm trying to find the most liked classic rock song. There is more information on my user page. Hope you participate! RENTASTRAWBERRY FOR LET? röck 02:59, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Classic Rock

The list has been updated! If there are any edits you can make to get rid of red links, feel free to make them. Thanks RENTASTRAWBERRY FOR LET? röck 00:25, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

If you have time you can advertise for the survey too. You don't have to though. Thanks once again. RENTASTRAWBERRY FOR LET? röck 00:49, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sources for List of the largest artificial non-nuclear explosions

Hello, good work on List of the largest artificial non-nuclear explosions, and thanks for the contribution. However, you did not provide any references or sources in the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. Can you list in the article any websites, books, or other sources that will allow people to verify the content in List of the largest artificial non-nuclear explosions? You can simply add links, preferably as the inline citations, or see citation templates for different citation methods. Thanks! Lupin|talk|popups 00:36, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Xmasbox

First of all, thanks for the

Holly This user wishes everyone here a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year for 2007.

Christmas box, I was about to create one, but I found yours.

I won't edit, your user page, but is there any chance, that you could edit the box to This user wishes everyone here a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year for 2006., to fit into the style, of the other wikipedia user boxes Brian | (Talk) 05:34, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

Could you also create a This user wishes everyone here happy holidays and a prosperous New Year for 2006 and/or a Hanukah box? I would do so, but I do not know how, and I would like a non-religion specific userbox on my userpage. Thank you in advance,--Akako| 01:45, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections January 2006/Vote/Mindspillage

I just thought you would like to know this edit shows an anon voting in your name. I am almost certain that the edit was made by an imposter, the IP address is very similar to others where malicious edits have come from recently, but if it was not you will need to re-add your vote (remembering to sign in, of course). [edit] Favorite Songs

My survey has changed. I am now continuing my mission for the best songs, but now I am accepting all genres. I'm giving you a chance to revote for your top ten favorite songs of any genres (not just classic rock which is still the best). I've made a executive decision to keep the existing survey results and just add on to that with the new entries. My feeling for doing this is because classic rock is the most influential genre in music currently so it should be expressed more in the survey. Thank you for contributing in the past, and hopefully in the future. ROCK ON. RENTASTRAWBERRY FOR LET? röck 03:22, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userbox switch

You are very welcome...though it does change the actual number of userboxes used...you now have only 40 instead of 42 userboxes. Also, I didn't see the time zone userbox that needed to be changed out with the new master template. You might want to take a look at it to see which options you wish to have. Have a nice day. - LA @ 11:47, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
