- These are the pictures which I nominated, but were not promoted to Featured status. They are still nice pictures, good enough to earn a subpage. I have learned much with each nomination about photography, and my choices should soon be of better quality. Please note that I could not have taken even these pictures, as I am a mediocre photographer.

 Failed because of: stiching problems; similar to another astronomy Featured picture. - A star cluster that will eventually break apart. |
 Failed because of: bad lighting; unencyclopedic; reflections; ugly wall. - A water droplet creating ripples. |
 Failed because of: blown highlights. - A foot path near Diepenbeek. |
