I have removed the concluding sentence under the Columbia heading, which said "This did not prevent student radicals from attempting to shut the School of International Affairs down in April, 1972". The sentence is a non-sequitur, both because receiving an award couldn't prevent others from doing anything and because the College's intent in honoring Cordier surely was not to prevent a student revolt against one of the graduate schools years later. The 1972 action of these student radicals may be worth mentioning in an article about Columbia or about student activism, but it really doesn't belong in this article unless there is more information of how Cordier was involved or affected.
