[edit] Merging with other UStA residence articles

• Do Not Merge

The notability of AMH is due to its architectural interest, not its place as a UStA hall of residence. It falls within categories that the other residences do not, and is linked directly from other articles dealing with architecture and the career of James Stirling. I do however agree that the other residence sites could be merged - WhaleyTim 09:58, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

• Merge - A merger would bring all halls of residence together in one place. If they were merged, the notability of the hall would not be affected, with appropriate sectioning, this could redirect to the section of the article that relates to the hall. Every hall is arguably tentatively notable in some sense, by this yardstick, every hall should have their own page, which the amount of content matter does not necessarily merit. • Do Not Merge

Until there is more information for other halls of residence, I see no reason to merge them. Granted, not every hall may deserve its own page, but perhaps eager members will think otherwise and create them - I am currently working on a page for Deans Court, which in my admittedly biased opinion, I believe a noteworthy hall. Rather, articles (once written) should be linked to one another by creating a category of Halls of Residence: St Andrews. But to put AMH, with its substantial copy, in the same place as Gannochy, which has nothing, will make for somewhat confused reading. --JJH 12:55, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
