"Andrew Gowers was appointed editor of the Financial Times in October 2001. He left this post in November 2005 due to disagreements over strategy with the Financial Times' owner, Pearson."

Anyone here know the nature of the disagreement. i.e. What was Andrew's argument that Pearson didn't like? My perception from a short googling is he wanted the paper to be local to UK, a good strategy in my opinion, but time will have to prove that assertion before it can be included in wikipedia. I haven't followed it closely, so I wouldn't be inserting any changes on the front article, even though I feel it deserve that change
