Andy Webb

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Andy Webb is an ornithologist living in Scotland.

Andy works for the Joint Nature Conservation Committee in Aberdeen, where he is responsible for studying seabirds in Britain's offshore waters.

An active member of the Northeast Scotland birding scene, Andy has been involved with the finding and identification of many rare birds, including a sandplover on the Don Estuary which, although identified at the time as a Greater Sand Plover and accepted as such by the British Birds Rarities Committee (BBRC), is now viewed by most British birders as a Lesser Sand Plover of the mongolus group of races; this bird is currently under review by BBRC, and may be accepted as the first record of this species for Britain.

Andy was county recorder for Northeast Scotland until recently. He is currently chairman of the Gay Birders' Club.
