Andy Thompson (born 9 November 1967) is an English footballer who began his career with West Bromwich Albion, before moving to rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers with Steve Bull in 1986 for a combined fee of £65,000. 'Thommo' was a fans favourite, well known for his speed and penalty taking, and at just 5'5" was very short for a defender.

He went on to play 376 league games for Wolves, scoring 43 goals before moving on a free transfer to Tranmere. A short spell at Cardiff City followed, before ending his career at Shrewsbury Town.
