Andy Lanning is a British comic book writer and inker. He usually writes in collaboration with Dan Abnett. Working primarily at Marvel Comics and DC Comics, Lanning's smooth, polished inking style—reminiscent of Joe Sinnott or Terry Austin—has been in high demand since the early 1990s. He has also pencilled on occasion—for instance, on his creation The Sleeze Brothers.

Lanning's highest-profile writing assignment was probably his and Abnett's 2000 relaunch of DC's title Legion of Super-Heroes.

Lanning will again collaborate with Abnett on an ongoing Nova series for Marvel, launching in 2007. The duo previously authored a Nova mini-series as a tie-in for the Marvel crossover "Annhiliation", starring Richard Rider, now the only member of the Xandarian Nova Corps.
