Andy & Edie

Andy & Edie is a 2004 off-Broadway play starring Misha Sedgwick (no relation) as Edie Sedgwick and Thomas Blake as Andy Warhol. Written by Peter Braunstein, the play was directed by Jessica Rotondi and ran from June 3 through June 13, 2004.^[1]

The play's author, journalist Peter Braunstein, was arrested on December 16, 2005 for sexually assaulting a woman on Halloween while posing as a New York City firefighter. On January 5, 2006, he pleaded "not guilty" to charges of sexual abuse, arson, kidnapping, burglary and robbery.^[2]

During the run of the play, it was claimed in publicity material that Misha Sedgwick was Edie Sedgwick's niece and this misidentification persisted in the media for more than a year.^[3]^[4] . Edie's only living brother, Jonathan, disputed this claim.^[5] The New York Times recently printed a retraction. ^[6]
