Andrew Taylor (born August 1, 1986 in Hartlepool) is an English football player who currently plays for Middlesbrough.
Taylor was part of England's Under-19 Championship team in 2005, in which they finished runners-up to France. He was also selected for the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship.
Having missed most of the previous season, due in no small part to an ankle injury, he spent six months on loan to Bradford City at the start of the 2005-06 season, playing 24 League One matches and twice in the LDV Vans Trophy. He was recalled from loan, and made his Boro debut in the 7-0 defeat away to Arsenal on January 14, 2006.
Despite his less than auspicious debut, Taylor has quickly established himself in the Boro line up, appearing in semi finals of both the UEFA Cup against Steaua Bucharest, and the F.A. Cup, where he was arguably Boro's best player during an insipid defeat to West Ham. In light of Frank Queudrue's departure to Fulham, Taylor has slotted in to the left back position with composure, showing a deft touch and the ability to link up with and support Stewart Downing from his left back position.
