Andrew Rippin

Andrew Rippin, F.R.S.C. is Professor of History and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Rippin is the author of many works on the Qur'an and its interpretation, as well as the widely respected Muslims - Their Religious Beliefs and Practices now in its third edition (2005). [1]

Rippin's analysis of John Wansbrough is included in The Origins of The Koran: Classic Essays on Islam’s Holy Book edited by Ibn Warraq.

In 2006, he was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
