Andrew Jacobs, Jr.

Andrew Jacobs, Jr. (born February 24, 1932) was a lawyer, Indiana state legislator and Congressman for thirty years. His father, Andrew Jacobs, was also a Congressman.
He was born in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, and graduated from Shortridge High School, Indianapolis, in 1949; and Indiana University in 1955, where he also received a LL.B. in 1958. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1950–1952.
He served as a member of the Indiana House of Representatives, 1959–1960; and then elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-ninth and to the three succeeding Congresses (1965–1973). After losing a re-election bid in 1972, he was elected again in 1974 to the Ninety-fourth and to the ten succeeding Congresses. He retired in 1997.
Jacobs is currently a working author. His most recent book is The 1600 Killers.
