Andrew Freeman

Andrew Freeman (10 March 1909 - 17 January 1996), was the inventor of the electric block heater for automobiles.

Freeman first developed a block heater around 1940, and received U.S. Patent #2487326 on 8 November 1946.

An electrical engineering graduate of the University of North Dakota, Freeman also managed Minnkota Power Cooperative for forty years in the mid-to-late 20th century.
