Andrew D. Hamilton (1952 - ), is the Provost of Yale University, taking office in October 2004, after his predecessor, Susan Hockfield was appointed the 16th President of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He previously served as Deputy Provost for Science and Technology for one year under Hockfield, and as chairman of the department of chemistry at Yale University. He is the Benjamin Silliman Professor of Chemistry and also holds the rank of Professor of Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry.
