Andrew is the English form of a given name common in many countries. Other forms include 'Andreas', and 'André'. 'Andrew' is a common name in English-speaking countries including the UK and the United States. In the 1990s it was among the top-ten most popular names for baby boys. Andrew frequently is shortened to 'Andy' or 'Drew.'

'Andrew' is derived from the Greek name Ανδρεας, or 'Andreas'. Ανδρεας comes from ανδρος (andros), ancient Greek for "strong, manly and courageous".
