Andreas Viestad

Andreas Viestad (born April 5, 1973 in Oslo, Norway), also known as "The Charming Ambassador", is a Norwegian food writer and television chef. He currently lives in Oslo, Norway.
Viestad is most known for his culinary stunts on the television series New Scandinavian Cooking, where he takes his mobile kitchen to improbable places in his native Norway. His book Kitchen of Light and the first two seasons of New Scandinavian Cooking have had considerable international success, which has been aired in the USA, China, Germany, Italy, Finland and on BBCFood in over fifty countries. The third season with Andreas Viestad is currently airing on PBS. Since 1999 he has had a weekly column in Magasinet, the magazine section of the Norwegian daily Dagbladet. He has also published five cook books in Norwegian. Viestad is known as a storyteller as well as a food person. His work has been published in Gourmet (US) and (London) Sunday Times. His newest book Where Flavor Was Born (coming in October 2007) is a departure from the Scandinavian cooking, a book on the spices of the Indian Ocean published by Chronicle Books in San Francisco.
