Andorra in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Andorra’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was chosen in an internal selection by national broadcaster RTVA. From over 44 candidates, the selectors chose Jenny, with the song "Sense Tu" (Without You), which they described as similar to the music of artists such as Sam Brown and Anastacia.
Jenny was born in Asturias, Spain, and is a student of music under Helen Rowson in Barcelona. She is a new artist in both Spain and Andorra, with no previous commercial success in either country. The producer of this, as well as the 2005 entry, was Rafael Artesero.
Not having advanced to the final in 2005, Andorra had to compete in the semifinal in 2006 as well. The song was performed in Catalan at the Eurovision Song Contest, despite the fact that both previous Andorrean entries, also performed in Catalan, fared quite poorly. Jenny failed to qualify to the final as well, actually finishing last of the 23 semifinal contestants.
