And the Hits Just Keep on Comin' is Michael Nesmith's sixth album. The album is particularly notable for it's "stripped-down" quality, as it features only Nesmith on vocals and acoustic guitar and long-time accompanist "Red" Rhodes on pedal steel. Nesmith has stated that the title of the album is a reaction to the record label repeatedly asking him to write more hit songs. Ironically, the album features Nesmith's own version of his tune "Different Drum" which was a hit for Linda Ronstadt and The Stone Poneys in 1967. The liner notes to the album are signed "Papa Nes".
- This album is dedicated to Annalee Huffaker who taught me the joys of song.
