Talk:Ancient Egyptian royal titulary

I would have liked to have added the hieroglyphic representation of all of Thutmose I's names/titles next to his example. Unfortunately this underlies the limitations of the Template talk:Hiero, which does not allow for all 5 titles to be displayed.
And strictly speaking, it would also be instructive to be able to add the titles (such as the segde and the bee beside the cartouche, something else the Template talk:Hiero does not currently allow for. Captmondo 03:13, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah - am planning more stuff - will try and dig out example photos for each of the 5 names. Also the template for a Serekh draws it horizontally, which isn't correct as far as I know. Markh 08:10, August 12, 2005 (UTC)
Have just finished adding images I have of a serekh of Namer (slightly blurry unfortunately) and of Senusret I's praenomen (missing a good part of the "sedge" symbol. Better examples are out there, but this is the best I can do at the moment. If you (or others) can add to this, all the better! Captmondo 03:12, 14 August 2005 (UTC)
Decided to spend the time poking around the template structures and came up with the one needed for this page (which of course can be used with others as well). See: Template:Hiero/5Fold. Will look into doing a full mock-up using this new template on this page tomorrow. Captmondo 02:15, 22 August 2005 (UTC)
- That looks great - although the serekh should be vertical ;-) (it would mess up the page, so its probably better to have it like this) - (I have no idea whether than it even possible) Markh 09:44, August 22, 2005 (UTC)

- Agreed that the serekh should be vertical. And when it comes to the Fivefold Titulary I believe the same applies top the Golden Horus name as well. Writing things horizontally is a limitation of the current system as implemented. After some further research it looks as though I will have to alter the 5Fold temnplate somewhat, since the "Two Ladies" and Golden Horus names are usually not rendered within a cartouche. And thanks for the addition to the Pepi II article btw! Captmondo 12:39, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
