Innocent and Vain: an Introduction to Nico is a compilation album by Nico. It was released for the European market by Polydor on March 12, 2002 as part of their "An Introduction To" series of budget compilations.

Innocent and Vain, named after one of the songs on the compilation, is a regular best-of album that consists of songs off Nico's Polydor and Island albums. It also includes two tracks from her 1967 collaboration with The Velvet Underground on The Velvet Underground and Nico. Innocent and Vain contains material of Nico's early solo career only, spanning the 1967–1974 period. Because of Polydor's budget approach, no licensing of the two Elektra albums Nico also recorded in this period was possible.
