An tUltach

An tUltach is the official magazine of Comhaltas Uladh, the Ulster branch of Conradh na Gaeilge (The Gaelic League).

Establised in 1924, it is the oldest Gaelic language magazine still in circulation and has subscribers in in every county in Ireland and as far away as China.

An tUltach promotes any type of creative writing in Irish and has had such celebrated contributors like Seosamh Mac Grianna, Muiris Ó Droighneáin and Cathal Ó Searcaigh. Its first editor was the founder of Comhaltas Uladh, Fr. Lorcán Ó Muireadhaigh and it current editor is Niall Comer, a schoolteacher from Newry.
