Amygdalodon (IPA: /ɑˈmɪgdɑloʊdɑn/) meaning "almond tooth", because its teeth were shaped like almonds (Greek amygdale = almond + odon = tooth) was a herbivorous dinosaur with a long neck. It is a nomen dubium. The dinosaur itself is from the Bajocian stage of the Jurassic, and only from a few bone fragments and teeth have been discovered. Very little is known about it, but it is one of the only Jurassic dinosaurs from South America found thus far.
Amygdalodon was 15 meters (50 feet) long, 4 meters (12 feet) tall. This quadrupedal dinosaur was very large, weighing as much as 24 tons. The type species, Amygdalodon patagonicus, was described by Cabrera in Argentina in 1947.
