Amy Shields

Amy Shields (born March 7, 1990 in Ann Arbor, Michigan) is currently ranked among the top freestyle unicyclists in the world. Known for her exceptionally elegant and inspiring riding style, Amy holds five world unicycling titles, including Expert Female Individual Freestyle (2004), Expert Female Standard Skill (2006), Expert Pairs Freestyle (2004 & 2006), and Group Freestyle (2002). Nationally, Amy holds over 15 North American titles since 2001. In 2002 Amy defied all odds at the 13th MONDO Jugglefest in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she attained the Guinness World Record for jump roping on a unicycle with an unprecedented 209 skips in one minute. Amy was the eighth person in the world to pass all ten levels of the International Unicycling Federation, and currently serves as Skill Level Coordinator for the Twin Cities Unicycle Club.

Besides being a world-renowned unicyclist, Amy also is a member of the St. Paul Figure Skating Club, where she has passed both her Senior Moves and Freeskate portions of the United States Figure Skating Association testing program. Amy Shields presently resides in St. Paul, Minnesota, with her parents, younger brother, and younger sister. Amy plans to continue unicycling, coaching figure skating, and hopes to one day hold a degree in pediatrics.
