Amy Kim Ganter (b. 1980 in Irondequoit, New York)[1] is the Rising Stars of Manga[2] award-winning author of Tokyopop's Sorcerers & Secretaries. [3] She won the third-place prize of $1,000 and a trophy for her story The Hopeless Romantic and the Hapless Girl in the fourth Rising Stars of Manga contest. [4]

She is also the creator of the webcomic Reman Mythology[5], a contributor to the Flight series of comics anthologies, and is adapting an R.L. Stein Goosebumps story. [6] After out-growing superhero comics like Spawn and X-Men, Ganter became influenced by the more realistic comics she discovered while on a childhood trip to Korea.[3] She cites Ranma 1/2 as an influence.[6]

Ganter lives in Alhambra, California and is engaged to Flight editor Kazu Kibuishi.[6]
