I personally have bought 4 different models of these Chinese MP3/MP4 players for various members of my family. The players, all of which, have given flawless performance to date.
So far, I have not found one that installs the software. I have had to examine the diska and extract the english .MSI file with the .CAB file to hard drive and then execute the .MSI file to install the coversion and computer AMV player software. Manuals: Not sure here. Some come with Chinese and English manuals, while some may only have Chinese. Always ask the supplier before you buy. If you have never had this type of device to operate, it just takes a few minutes to master it, mistakes excluded, naturally. --Itspete (removed from body of article). 64.12.116.11 02:54, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Most of this entry is not about the format, it is about the player (for which there is a separate page). Also, basic inaccuracies - video compression is comparably low (though small file size due to low resolution and frame rate). UPDATE - have moved content to appropriate page, and made it a bit less effusive - Chinese MP4/MTV Player. - Fizzybrain 13:17, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Does anybody know about an AMV convertor which works?
There is a Free AMV Video conversion tool at www.mympxplayer.com! amv_convert_368.exe works for me.

I have a AMV compatible MP4 player and use a program called AMV Conversion Tool to convert IFO (DVD), WMV, AVI etc... into AMV format - I must say, its not quite as clear viewing as the other formats because as the person above said, its a lot lower compression rate.
