Does not Amtsgericht also refer to the area over which the Local District Court has jurisdiction?

eg the 1930s Deutsche Ortsverzeichnis lists for Regierungsbezirk Kassel, Kreis Herrschaft Schmalkalden, 3 Amtsgericht a) Schmalkalden, b) Brotterode, c) Steinbach-Hallenberg

If Amtsgericht refers only to the court itself, then what is the term for each court's associated area?

Thanks

  • The jurisdictional area of an Amtsgericht is an Amtsgerichtsbezirk. - Tschild 20:05, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
