Amsterdam-Noord
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Amsterdam-Noord (IPA: /'ɑmstə,dɑm/ /'nɔːt/; English: Amsterdam-North) is an autonomous stadsdeel (borough) of Amsterdam. The area is located north of the IJ, the body of water which separates it from central Amsterdam and the rest of the city.
[edit] Transport
The area's severance from the rest of the Amsterdam conurbation means it is not served by tram or metro, although this will change with the opening of the North-South line in 2012, however bus services run through the three road tunnels, and passenger ferries also cross over the IJ.
