Amr Zaki

Amr Zaki (Arabic: عمرو زكى‎ (born January 1, 1983) is an Egyptian professional footballer currently registered as a player for El Zamalek in Egypt. Zaki is an adaptable striker, who can play behind a front two or as a main forward.

Born in Mansoura, he started his career in Al-Mansoura Sporting Club in Egypt before moving and to ENPPI in the 2003-2004 season. At ENPPI, he was the 2006 top goal scorer and helped the club win its first trophy, the 2005 Egyptian Cup. He impressed in the 2006 African Nations Cup, when he scored with a header to take Egypt into the final of the competition, which they eventually won. That caught the attention of many clubs, such as El Zamalek and Al-Ahly from Egypt, Al-Ain FC from the UAE, and French team Nantes Atlantique. He finally decided to play for Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow, who signed him for a reported $2 million. However, he did not play a single match for Lokomotiv.

Amr Zaki moved back to Egypt to play for EL Zamalek, where he became the best goalscorer of the team.
