Sung Noen (Thai: สูงเนิน) is a district (Amphoe) in western part of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, northeastern Thailand.

The area of Sung Noen was the location of two ancient cities, Mueang Sema and Mueang Khorakha Pura (Khorat). When the Northeastern railway was finished, the community in Ban Sung Noen due to the passing railway. Thus the government established Sung Noen district in 1901.
Sung Noen word comes from Song Noen meaning two peaks, as the village has 2 small hills beside a pond.

Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Dan Khun Thot, Kham Thale So, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima, Pak Thong Chai, Wang Nam Khiao and Sikhio.

The district is subdivided into 11 communes (tambon). There are two townships (thesaban tambon) - Sung Noen covers parts of tambon Sung Noen, and Kut Chik covers parts of the tambon Kut Chik and Na Klang.
