[edit] History

Renu Nakhon was a Mueang which was converted into a district of Nakhon Phanom during the thesaphiban administrative reforms in 1907. In 1917 it was reduced to a tambon of Tha Uthen district. It was recreated as a minor district (King Amphoe) in 1970, and upgraded to a full district in 1975.

[edit] Administration

The district is subdivided into 9 communes (tambon), which are further subdivided into 93 villages (muban). The township (thesaban tambon) Renu Nakhon covers parts of the tambon Renu and Phon Thong. There are further 8 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
