Phon Charoen (Thai: พรเจริญ) is a district (Amphoe) of Nong Khai Province, northeastern Thailand.

The minor district (King Amphoe) Phon Charoen was established on May 13 1976 by splitting two tambon from Bueng Kan district. It was upgraded to a full district on July 13 1981.

Neighboring districts are (from the west clockwise) So Phisai, Bueng Kan, Si Wilai and Seka of Nong Khai Province, and Kham Ta Kla and Ban Muang of Sakon Nakhon Province.

The district is subdivided into 7 communes (tambon), which are further subdivided into 58 villages (muban). There are two townships (thesaban tambon) - Phon Charoen covers parts of tambon Phon Charoen, and Don Ya Nang the whole tambon Don Ya Nang. There are further 6 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
