Mueang Ranong (Thai: เมืองระนอง) is the capital district (Amphoe Mueang) of Ranong Province, southern Thailand.

Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) La-un of Ranong Province, Phato of Chumphon Province, and Kapoe of Ranong again. To the west across the Kraburi River estuary is the Tanintharyi Division of Myanmar.

The district is subdivided into 9 communes (tambon), which are further subdivided into 39 villages (muban). The town (thesaban mueang)) Ranong covers the whole tambon Khao Niwet. Ngao and Paknam are two townships (thesaban tambon), each covering parts of the same-named tambon. There are further 8 Tambon administrative organization.
