Lom Kao (Thai: หล่มเก่า) is the northernmost district (Amphoe) of Phetchabun Province, northern Thailand.
[edit] History
The first record of Mueang Lom found in the first King Ramkhamhaeng the Great stone pillar. In Rattanakosin era, this area was a big community of Lao people from Vientiane. When the town population grew due to further immigration from Luang Phrabang and Vientiane, the governor lead people to establish a new town near the Pa Sak river, now in the Lom Sak district.
[edit] Geography
Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Dan Sai and Phu Ruea of Loei Province and Nam Nao, Lom Sak and Khao Kho of Phetchabun Province.
[edit] Administration
The district is subdivided into 9 communes (tambon). The township (thesaban tambon) of Lom Kao covers part of the tambon Lom Kao.
