Khlong Lan (Thai: คลองลาน) is the westernmost district (Amphoe) of Kamphaeng Phet Province, northern Thailand.

[edit] History

The area was originally part of Mueang Kamphaeng Phet district, then named Tambon Pong Nam Ron. The government separated and created Tambon Khlong Nam Lai in 1976 and Tambon Khlong Lan Phattana in following year. These tambons were upgraded to a minor district (King Amphoe) in 1978, which was officially upgraded to a full district on March 20, 1986.

[edit] Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the east clockwise) Mueang Kamphaeng Phet, Khlong Khlung, Pang Sila Thong of Kamphaeng Phet Province, Umphang, Phop Phra and Wang Chao of Tak Province.

[edit] Administration

The district is subdivided into 4 communes (tambon), which are further subdivided into 65 villages (muban). There are no municipal (thesaban) areas, and 4 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
