Bueng Kan (Thai: บึงกาฬ) is a district (Amphoe) of Nong Khai Province, northeastern Thailand.

The district was originally a tambon of Chaiburi district, Nakhon Phanom Province. In 1916 the district was established, then named Bueang Kayot (บึงกาญจน์). 1934 it was renamed to Bueang Kan.

Neighboring districts are (from the east clockwise) Bung Khla, Seka, Si Wilai, Phon Charoen, So Phisai and Pak Khat of Nong Khai Province. To the north across the Mekong river is the Laotian province Bolikhamxai.

The district is subdivided into 12 communes (tambon), which are further subdivided into 131 villages (muban). Bueang Kan is a township (thesaban tambon) which covers parts of tambon Bueang Kan and Wi Sit. There are further 12 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
