Amon-Mut-Khonsu

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Amon-Mut-Khonsu is an Egyptian temple designed with hypostyle halls to emulate the primal swamp of creation and columns to symbolize plants that grew in the marshes of the Nile.

The Temple of Amon, Mut, and Khonsu is part of the New Kingdom of Egypt, devoting their temples to the gods, in contrast to Old Kingdom temples being devoted as mortuary complexes. This New Kingdom temple is composed of pylons, walls, and gates.
