Aml Ameen

Aml Ameen (born 30 July 1985) is an English television actor.

Aml (pronounced AM-MEL) Ameen first appeared on television in 2004's Bella and the Boys, in which he played the character Terry.

He learnt his acting craft at the Barbara Speake stage school in London. As a kid he appeared in west end in shows such as Oliver! and Jolson.

At the age of 11 he performed on stage with Michael Jackson at the 1996 BRIT Awards (the performance is remembered as the same one that the infamous Jarvis Cocker incident occurred).

His next role was a one-off appearance in an episode of the BBC television series Holby City. He also starred as Trife who was the main character in the British film Kidulthood, and was named one of the Times newspaper's ones to watch for 2006.

He currently plays PC Lewis Hardy in the long-running ITV police series The Bill; this is his most famous and popular role to date. Lewis Hardy is a headstrong character who has swapped his life as a street kid to try and make a difference on the right side of the law. He has a few problems with authority and regularly bumps heads with his seniors, most especially frequent beat partner PC Roger Valentine.

He presented an award at the Mobo Awards 2006.
