[edit] Trivia

  • This was one of a spate of 3-D films released in the early 80s. This film shared the distinction of a 3-D third chapter with Jaws 3-D and Friday the 13th Part 3.
  • Despite reading "Amityville 3-D" on the cover, none of the video releases were in 3-D.
  • Robert Joy's character was named Elliott West after Eliot Ness.
  • Although MGM's DVD box set of the Amityville films claims that this film is not a sequel, there are references to the original story.
  • This was the first Amityville film to not be based on or inspired by the so-called "true story" of the original book and movie.
  • Retitled for overseas and some television releases as Amityville III: The Demon.
  • First and only film in the series to receive a PG rating from the MPAA.
