Amita Dhiri

Amita Dhiri (born 1968 in Brighton, England) is a British actress. Born of a marriage between a French mother (Antonia) and a Ugandan Indian father (Vinod). She has two younger brothers, Viney and Sanjay. She speaks fluent French and Hindi.
She first found fame as Jarmila "Milly" Nassim in the acclaimed drama series This Life. She has subsequently gone on to many other appearances on British television, including roles in The Last Train, Dalziel and Pascoe, Holby City, Silent Witness and McCallum. More recently, she has had a recurring role as Rachel Crawchek in Judge John Deed. In 2007 she reunited with original cast members in This Life +10.
She has been married to producer Brendan Carroll since 1995, and the couple have a daughter, Maeve, born in 1998.
