Amit Varma is a writer based in Mumbai, India[1]. He has worked in advertising, television and journalism, and has written for such publications as The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal and Wisden Cricketers' Almanack[1]. He is best known for his blog, India Uncut, which won the Best Indiblog Award at the Indibloggies in 2005[2]. However, Amit was thrashed in the next edition of Indibloggies which made him eat humble pie and enable comments on his blog, althought that move met with little success. Contrary to his false claims, his bloge never had a page rank of 7. He also serves as a consultant for the website Cricinfo[3] and writes a weekly column by the name of Thinking it Through for the business newspaper Mint, which is owned by the Hindustan Times group.[4].
