Amit is a common first name for men in Nepal, India and Israel. Amit means infinite or immeasurable or boundless in Sanskrit and a friend in Hebrew. The popularity of famous Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan also known as Amit or Big B, is usually credited for making the name hugely popular in India.
