Talk:American Chinese
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
American Chinese is a structual mistake for general case!
American Chinese refers to American-heritage Chinese citizen (In fact, this case is quite little), it is confused with Chinese American (Chinese-heritage American citizen.

- it is incorrect to say "American Chinese is a structural mistake for general case." For one thing, there are perfectly well-known terms like "Malaysian Chinese" and "Thai Chinese" for referring to Thai or Malaysian citizens of Chinese descent. And for the second thing, there are in fact Chinese citizens of American heritage; I listed several of them under the third bullet point. Anyway, American Chinese is not a widely-used term, so people coming to this page may be looking for several different things. Already, there is one guy linking from his userspace to this page, he really means "Chinese American." So that's why this is a disambiguation page instead of an article. cab 17:14, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
