Amersham station is a London Underground station in Travelcard Zone D on the Metropolitan line. It is the terminus of the Metropolitan Line, and is not actually in Greater London; rather, it is in the county of Buckinghamshire. It is situated 23.7 miles (38.1 km) north west of Charing Cross and is the most westerly station on the whole London Underground system.
Amersham Station is served also by Chiltern Railways, which runs trains from London Marylebone station through to Aylesbury. From Aylesbury a shuttle service to Princes Risborough provides access to through services between Marylebone and Birmingham Snow Hill. The journey times to Central London range between 33–60 minutes.
Amersham was opened 1 September 1892 part of the Metropolitan Railway extension to Aylesbury. On 12 March 1922 its name was changed to "Amersham & Chesham Bois" but reverted to the original name during 1934. It is located on Station Approach, Amersham.
