The American University of Asia (AUA) established in 1995 is a non-profit organization which serves as a Board of Trustees to provide policies and oversight for two private institutions of higher education: The Institute of Technological Studies (ITS) in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Sharjah College in Sharjah, UAE. AUA is licensed by the Education Licensure Commission and is registered in Washington, D.C. The authority to operate as a degree-granting institution of higher education in the foregoing nations is provided by the Education Licensure Commission.
AUA, ITS and Sharjah College are affiliated with the University of Houston-Clear Lake in the United States of America.
