American Swedish Historical Museum
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The American Swedish Historical Museum was founded in 1926, making it the oldest Swedish museum in the United States. It is located in Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park in South Philadelphia (a district of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) on part of a 17th-century land grant provided to Sven Skute by Queen Christina of Sweden. The museum has twelve permanent galleries, an exhibition gallery, a museum shop, and a library which includes genealogical resources of interest to persons of Swedish descent.
